This means you’ll want to purchase something like the Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB M.2 drive. I installed the 256GB version and already wish I had spent the extra bit and gone with the 512GB version. If the M.2 slot is pci/e only, the Sata Adata device will not work. A wild guess is the M.2 2280 sata devices were put in a bracket in the HDD slot and the M.2 2280 slot is pci/e 3 x 4. Are you technical enough to go into the BIOS, and see if the M.2 2280 is showing in any kind of way? (sata device, empty). About M.2 SSD upgrade: I tried out the Samsung SM951 512 GB AHCI Version which has M-Key connector like the mainboard (see picture). The SSD is able to do PCIe 3.0 (northbridge) and PCIe 2.0 (southbridge). But the SSD was not recognized. That means the Y700-15ACZ has no PCIe Lanes connected to its M.2 port! So be careful.
